ever have one of those days?
i was cleaning out my previous developer machine, backing up files, deleting others, when i received the following alert:

i’m sorry sir, but your filenames are just to darn long. they stick out over the top edge of the recycle bin and a few of them even tip it over. it’s really causing quite a mess and we’d appreciate it if you shorten them in order to dispose of them properly.

Hah!
lmao. that’s the funniest thing i’ve read all day, and it’s been a long day. it’s really causing quite a mess…
i’m also baffled when stuff is just too big for the recycle bin. “yes, we know that the recycle bin isn’t a real object per se, and we’ve sort of just arbitrarily made it 10% but you see, there’s just too many bits. too many bits, and they won’t fit. we’ve even tried smashing them down with our foot, it’s simply just too big”
and while we’re on this topic, you can expect that disc any day now, along with something else you may be interested in having… oooooh suspenseful!
Trivial fix !!!!!!!
Just drag the folder or file to drive “C” and delete
it there. Moving it reduces the path size.
Worked for me.
Dragging the folder or file to C: is the correct answer.
Very simple fix.
